About Us

Our History

NEPT was established in 2015 to consolidate various educational initiatives aimed at enhancing primary education in Tanzania. The organization was founded by Natang’aduaki Z Mollel, with the support and commitment of Maasai elders, the Tanzania government, and the wider community.

Who we Are?

The Ngorongoro Education Project Tanzania (NEPT) is a UK-registered charity (No. 1160089) dedicated to empowering Maasai children in Loliondo through quality education, working hand-in-hand with Tanzanian government officials, village chiefs, and communities to create sustainable, inclusive solutions. As a non-political, non-commercial organization rooted in Christian values yet secular in practice, NEPT focuses on improving access to education, teacher training, and infrastructure—transforming lives while respecting local traditions.

"Don’t wait for extraordinary opportunities, seize common occasions and make them great, because if you can change your thoughts you can change the world…….’’
  • NEPT is governed by a Board of Trustees who are responsible for the charity’s operations and strategic direction.
  •  The trustees bring experience from the public, private, and voluntary sectors.
  • The charity operates with the assistance of volunteers, including a dedicated Project Director.
  • NEPT works with key partners in Tanzania, including government officers, headteachers and community leaders.
  • NEPT’s income is generated from private UK donors, partners, and fundraising events.
  •  The charity is committed to transparency and accountability in its financial management.
  • Audited financial reports are available upon request.
  • The trustees have assessed the major risks to which the charity is exposed, and systems are in place to mitigate these risks.
  • The charity maintains a reserves policy to ensure the continuity of its activities.
